Let’s talk links. Posting your own links and links to other relevant information is definitely one of the best ways to draw attention to your Page.
A link is another word for using a URL that goes to another website or page that has information.
In the photo above, where it says, “Write something….” That is where you are going to add the link or URL. Perhaps the link goes to a blog post, or perhaps to an article you read or to something that they will click on and navigate away from your Page. It might look something like this…..
The link is the URL to the website you want them to go to and Facebook will automatically add whatever picture goes with that article. Underneath the photo will be the title of the article you are sending them too.
Here is a cool trick: Once the image comes up, I can then go back up to the actual link, highlight it and delete it. It will then look like this…..
Now there is nothing in the “Write Something….” area and I can write in whatever I want to describe the article I want my audience to check out!
However, your audience can still click on the image and it will take them to the site. (pretty clever right?) Sometimes you will be given a choice of images to choose from so pick whichever one you think will resonate with your audience. Recently, Facebook has made changes. You now have the choice to “like”, “comment” and “share”, as your personal profile or your business page.
When you go to someone’s profile or page you will be given this screen…..
The drop down box that you will see when you click on the small gray arrow next to your logo or profile photo will give you the option to post as your profile or as a page you have. For example, if you have several Facebook Pages and your profile, you can choose which one you would like to post as on your own newsfeed or from on someone else’s page or profile.
What I have explained above is the procedure to posting a link and typically, an image will go along with it. But there is a difference between posting a single image, with no link, to your newsfeed and posting a link to a website that includes an image to your newsfeed.
Tomorrow we will cover the best ways to post images to your Facebook Page….so you will definitely want to tune in to that!
